I'm Rachel Anderson—a proud mom of three, born and raised in Sequim, and someone who knows firsthand what it means to stretch every dollar and make tough choices. Like many families in our community, I’ve experienced the challenges that come with living on a low income. That perspective shapes how I see policy—not as numbers on a page, but as decisions that impact real lives.

Over the years, I’ve given more than 2,000 volunteer hours to causes and programs that support our community. These hours have been spent with Head Start, Olympic Community Action Programs, Sequim Education Foundation, Sequim Farmers and Artisans Market, Sequim-Shisō Sister City Association and Friendship Garden.  I believe that service isn’t just something you do—it’s who you are.

I’m running for city council again because I want to keep bringing that same spirit of service and practical, data-informed thinking to the decisions we make for Sequim’s future. Our city faces real challenges: limited resources, aging infrastructure, and a need to balance growth with sustainability. I believe we can—and must—make choices guided by solid data, long-term thinking, and a deep understanding of the needs of all our residents.

I believe in transparency, accountability, and smart planning. And I’m ready to fight for a Sequim that works for everyone—not just today, but for generations to come.
